Senior HR Consultant
Grade PO6: £54,267 - £57,402 pa
We are seeking an experienced HR professional to join our team as a Senior HR Consultant. It is key to be able to be a team player, demonstrate attitude and values that align to providing a high class HR Advice and Consultancy service to the organisation.
This role is crucial in managing the performance and development of their HR team and ensuring consistent, up-to-date advice is provided to managers and employees to their service areas.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Management: Lead and manage the performance and development of the assigned HR team, ensuring that all team members provide consistent and current advice to managers and employees.
2. Coaching and Support: Coach and support team members, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all casework.
3. Case Management: Effectively manage complex HR cases, ensuring thorough documentation and resolution in line with organisational policies and legal requirements.
4. Advisory Services: Respond to and manage enquiries related to all aspects of the employee life cycle, offering accurate and timely advice to staff and management.
5. Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with trade unions, fostering a collaborative approach to addressing workforce issues.
6. Job Evaluations: Conduct thorough job evaluations, ensuring roles are appropriately assessed and recorded in compliance with our standards and policies.
7. Organisational Change: Manage and support organisational change programs, ensuring smooth transition and effective communication with all stakeholders.
8. Record Maintenance: Maintain and update accurate records of job evaluations, employee data, and other relevant HR documentation.
What We’re Looking for:
9. Experience: Extensive experience in Senior HR role/s, with significant focus on advisory services and case management, preferably within a local government or public sector environment.
10. Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, manage, and develop a team of HR professionals.
11. Knowledge: Deep understanding of HR processes, policies, best practices, and relevant legislation. Familiarity with job evaluation methodologies and employee life cycle management.
12. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively to a variety of stakeholders.
13. Relationship Management: Strong interpersonal skills with experience in building and maintaining relationships with trade unions and other key stakeholders.
14. Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
15. Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to identifying issues and developing practical solutions.
