Quantity Surveyor
Now required to join their commercial team and take financial responsibility for projects allocated. As a commercially and contractually aware Quantity Surveyor you will complete all traditional surveying duties and work with the internal teams and sub-contractors on projects from initial tender stage through to final account.
Duties include:
* Carrying out accurate build cost assessments of acquired land; maintain budget control throughout development; and manage cost overruns within tolerance levels.
* Accurate costing and preparation of budgets for each aspect of site development.
* Analysing and reporting on costs and cash flow vs budget
* Undertaking accurate viability/feasibility studies to support decision-making in site acquisition and development.
* Preparing tenders and procure sub-contractors, goods and materials
* Evaluating and agreeing variations and instructions.
* Liaising with site personnel and subcontractors in order to maximise productivity.
* Using a payments system for the payment of sub-contractors and the supply of goods and materials in line with company policy and procedures.
* Promoting and acting in accordance with company values, systems, policies and procedures.
You will:
* Have a minimum of five years quantity surveying experience within a UK contractor
* Educated to HNC/Degree level – Highly desirable but not essential
* Be commercially and contractually aware
* Have in-depth knowledge of building industry regulations and legislation
* First class communication skills
* Highly motivated and keen to progress
* IT literate
* A stable work history
* Full UK drivers licence
