Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Workshop Organiser to oversee a major reorganisation of our workshop.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and knowledge/experience of various tools, equipment and materials to help you better create an efficiently organised system.
This role involves ensuring that all tools and materials are is designated places, in a logical arrangement. Areas/Categories for Carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc for both tools and materials. Knowledge of various materials is useful but basic training can also be provided.
Responsibilities
* Work with the company director to re-design and re-allocated spaces in our compact (shipping container) workshop.
* Install shelving and cabinets where required and label all boxes, crates and boxes
* Organise all the 'misc items' bins
* Have excellent organisation skills and understand the importance organisation will have to efficiency
* Assist customers with inquiries and provide exceptional customer service
* Handle heavy lifting as required during assembly and maintenance tasks
* Maintain a clean and organised workspace to promote safety and efficiency
* Train new staff on workshop procedures, safety protocols, and equipment usage
Requirements
* Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair and maintenance
* Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
* Ability to read and interpret schematics for assembly processes
* Previous experience in a workshop or similar environment is advantageous
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail
