In this role, you will support the Head of International Tax Compliance with shaping the Group’s agenda of establishing business presence in overseas territories from a tax compliance and company law perspective. You will act as a trusted internal advisor for internal stakeholders, securing legal and regulatory compliance across markets, and working in partnership with the Group’s external advisors. This involves determining the tax, legal, and regulatory compliance requirements for the Group to complete work in different countries. H&S and HR compliance is not within the purview of this role, although you will be expected to work in close partnership with these teams (HR in particular) to ensure that all risks are covered. This is a fast-paced role where you will play a pivotal part in establishing the overall international compliance framework for the Group, identifying the entry strategy into individual target countries, and following this through to execution. You will be involved in providing advice to the business on whether a presence is required in-country, and if so, what type and the associated process. Additionally, you will define how we can deliver our project requirements in-country from a financial and global mobility perspective. You will ensure all relevant financial compliance is covered and that the Sales team is well-informed on country-specific tax charges to be built into the sales price tendered on bids. You will also work closely with HR on the requirements of posting workers overseas and assist in double taxation claims. You will support the international tax compliance process for the Group, working closely with external advisors and the International Finance team to support them in executing the plan and ensuring a smooth transition into business-as-usual tax activities. You will ensure internal stakeholders have a full understanding of what is required to maintain compliance in each country, achieving a smooth transition into ongoing operations. Separately, you will support all tax activities across the group, monitoring the Group’s ongoing compliance in all countries where we have a taxable presence. This includes technical reviews of tax returns and reporting and supporting Accounts Receivable and Payable teams on indirect tax compliance (e.g. VAT/GST and WHT). The overall objective is to assess and minimise financial, legal, and regulatory risk for international operations. What you’ll be doing as our International Tax Compliance Manager: Work with external advisors and complete detailed independent research to understand challenges, obligations, and practices of working in new territories (taxation, global mobility, company law, trade permits, etc.). Collaborate with the Head of International Finance Compliance and senior internal stakeholders to agree on the entry strategy for new international markets. Support the HR team with global mobility advice on posting of workers overseas/hiring internationally. Act as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders on all international tax compliance matters, including completing annual compliance and reporting documentation. Provide guidance to the International Tax, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams on tax compliance, supporting the business-as-usual financial reporting and invoicing processes. Conduct technical reviews of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns and reporting for any countries where the Group has such obligations (corporation tax, sales tax, employment tax, withholding tax, etc.). Detect and challenge inadequate or ineffective controls to mitigate risks Ensure the business undertakes regular reviews of material tax risk and adherence to policy standards. What we’re looking for in our International Tax Compliance Manager: Technically minded, proven experience of international tax and global mobility. Strategic thinking and the ability to manage complex tasks while working to tight deadlines. Communicating and collaborating with senior stakeholders, including executive-level officers. Working with external advisors (tax, finance, and compliance) and scrutinising advice received. Experience with Bloomberg’s International Tax platform beneficial, but not essential. Strong analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Strong organisational, time management, and project management skills. Experience and knowledge of the IT infrastructure, networks, and connectivity industry is preferred but not essential. Previous experience in relevant roles. Mandatory strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Professional qualification in Tax or a Chartered Accountant Preferred but not essential Experience with Bloomberg’s International Tax platform.
