Head Chef – High-End Indian Restaurant (Essex)
Salary: £50,000 per year
Schedule: 3 straight shifts & 3 double shifts per week
We are seeking a creative, talented, and passionate Head Chef to lead the kitchen team at our premium Indian restaurant in Essex – just 5 minutes from the Elizabeth Line, making it highly accessible. Key Responsibilities
Lead and inspire the kitchen team, ensuring smooth daily operations.
Develop and execute innovative menus that blend authentic Indian flavours with modern presentation.
Maintain consistently high standards of food quality, taste, and creativity.
Oversee stock control, supplier management, and ordering.
Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
Train, mentor, and motivate junior chefs and kitchen staff.
Control food costs and manage kitchen budgets effectively.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-end Indian or fine-dining restaurant.
Exceptional creativity with the ability to design menus that inspire and impress.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and deliver excellence in a fast-paced kitchen.
Expert knowledge of Indian cuisine, spices, and techniques, combined with a flair for modern plating.
Flexibility to work 3 straight shifts and 3 double shifts per week.
