Job summary
An exciting opportunity, 9 GP (20,000+pts) Practice, complemented by enthusiastic and friendly team of staff over two sites - Baring Road Medical Centre in Grove Park and Rushey Green Group Practice in Catford.
We require 2 experienced receptionists/admin with initiative, passion for service and strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills to work shift over the two sites.
Main duties of the job
Responsibilities include:
Meeting and greeting patients
Call handling
Dealing with patient queries
Ensuring smooth running of operational aspects of reception
Working in GP/Health sector experience desirable
EMIS Web clinical software an advantage, however training will be provided

Ensurean effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and anyother visitors to the Practice
Dealwith all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-upappointments.
Usingyour own judgment and communication skills ensure that patients with no priorappointment but who need urgent consultation are seen in a logical andnon-disruptive manner.
ExplainPractice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seekingtemporary cover and ensure procedures are completed.
Receiveand make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and promptappropriate delivery.
Enterrequests for home visits into the message book, ensuring careful recording ofall relevant details and where necessary refer to Duty Doctor.
Actionrepeat prescription requests and ensure that they are ready for collection bythe patient within 48 hours, either on the computer or manually, and inform patientsif this is not possible
Preparelists and notes for all surgeries and clinics held, ensuring completion of allassociated paperwork.

1. Good standard of Education
2. including English and Maths Grade C GCSE or equivalent

4. Using computer based information systems, particularly EMIS web
5. Communicating

7. Experience of working co-operatively with others in a close working environment
8. Experience of using office equipment ( photocopies and fax machines)
