Main duties of the job

The South Gloucestershire Specialised Care Home and Enhanced Dementia Service (SCHEDS)

SCHEDS provides psychosocial interventions for service users with complex needs, including dementia and mental health illnesses. The team works in two parts, supporting individuals and carers in their own homes, and those residing in care homes.

The South Gloucestershire Therapies Team

The Later Life Therapies Team is part of the community mental health services for older adults. The post-holder will provide assessment and therapeutic interventions to people referred into the Community Mental Health Team for Older Adults, who are over 65 and have a wide range of mental health conditions, including severe and enduring mental illness and dementia. The role involves working within a multidisciplinary team.

The main duties include providing robust support services, working under the supervision of registered team members, contributing to a multidisciplinary approach, delivering specific interventions, and evaluating these interventions to positively impact service users' lives.

Please note that the South Gloucestershire services cover a large geographical area, so applicants must have a valid driving licence and access to their own transport. It is not possible to carry out the requirements of this role using public transport.
