Load Analysis Engineers - (roles open at all levels)
Location - Bath / Bristol / Wiltshire
Salary - £40,000 / £90,000
Join a pioneering UK engineering team building the next generation of unmanned systems. You’ll be shaping technology that pushes the limits of endurance, reliability, and efficiency.
We’re on the lookout for a Load Analysis Engineer performing stress testing on CAD designs by applying loads, and the role requires aerospace expertise and knowledge of tools like NASTRAN for finite element analysis (FEA). The role likely includes analysing aero loads and might involve or complement wind tunnel testing to evaluate how aerodynamic forces affect the structure.
What you’ll do:
* Stress testing: Taking CAD designs and subjecting them to simulated loads to analyse structural integrity.
* Aero loads: Specifically analysing aerodynamic loads that aircraft experience during flight.
* Aerospace expertise: Applying knowledge of aircraft design, aerodynamics, and structural mechanics to the analysis.
* Using specialised software for stress analysis. NASTRAN is a common tool for FEA in the aerospace industry.
* Wind tunnel testing: Using wind tunnels to physically test aerodynamic characteristics of aircraft models, which complements the FEA done in the software.
* Flight testing: The final stage where a physical prototype is tested in flight.
What you’ll bring:
* A degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering.
* Strong grasp of aerodynamics, thermodynamics, motor design, and power systems.
* Hands-on experience with propulsion integration (motors, controllers, or batteries).
* Familiarity with simulation tools such as NASTRAN or equivalent
* A collaborative, practical mindset with a passion for solving real engineering challenges.
What’s in it for you:
* A chance to shape an entirely new engineering capability and influence the future of aerospace design
* Competitive salary, based on experience
* Up to 10% matched pension contribution
* Private medical insurance
* Performance-related bonus
