Due to company growth, a fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our team. We are seeking CNC Setter/Operators with experience in using CNC lathes and/or milling machines – preferably with knowledge of Fanuc controls. You will be working as part of a wider team to undertake a variety of CNC duties and produce a wide range of precision components, ranging from valve bodies to flanges to Formula 1 fasteners.
Key Responsibilities
* Set and operate Fanuc-controlled CNC machines
* Work from Technical Drawings
* Install the correct programmes into the machine
* Prepare and load materials and components
* Work to specific tolerances ensuring these are accurate for each operation
* Inspect and measure finished components, recording results using in-process inspection sheets
* Report to supervisor with any queries
* Take a proactive approach to managing health & safety for self and others
* Be flexible in duties/responsibilities and perform other duties which reasonably correspond to the general character of the job
* Adhere to all company policies
Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Training
* Experience setting and operating CNC machines – lathes and/or milling machines
* Completed relevant apprenticeship in engineering or minimum of Level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds in the relevant field is desirable
* Experience producing precision turned or milled components, preferably to close tolerances
* Confident independent operation of Fanuc-controlled machines
* Experience machining a variety of materials, including high-strength nickel alloys, heat-treated cobalt, and ferrous
* Ability to complete ongoing quality documentation, maintaining communication with supervisors and quality operatives
* Understanding of M and G codes
* Understanding of basic measurement principles
* Understanding of basic quality principles
