We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity within the maternity service for an exceptional, committed and motivated midwife with a passion for professional advocacy and wellbeing for maternity staff at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is a secondment to cover parenting leave until August .
Main duties of the job
The PMA role has been developed to replace the role of the supervisor of midwives that was deselected in April due to legislative change. The model that supports the deployment of this role is called “A-EQUIP” which provides a continuous support and improvement process that builds upon personal and professional resilience and enhances quality of care for women and supports preparedness for midwives in appraisal and professional revalidation.
The ultimate aim is that this continuous improvement process of the “A-EQUIP” model will become an intrinsic part of everyone’s job, every day in all parts of maternity service and within the wider region. Thus, the post holder will assist the Trust in implementing the elements of the A-EQUIP model utilising the guidance issued by NHS England in April .
The successful candidate will join the Wellbeing team and develop a pathway to support the wellbeing of maternity staff alongside delivering the A-EQUIP model.
Participate in an out of hours on call system and be require to be part of the bleep holding rota.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, committed and passionate midwife to join the practice development team as the Professional Midwifery Advocate (PMA) and Wellbeing Lead Midwife.
The individual must have a strong commitment to midwifery practice, safety and have excellent organisational, analytical and leadership skills.
Liaison with the Director of Midwifery, the Lead Midwife for Education, the Midwifery Leadership Team, the Consultant body and the wider MDT is key and as such the successful applicant must be a team player and have excellent communication skills.
