Electrical/Avionics Engineer

As an Electrical/Avionics Engineer, you will support the engineering team in design, analysis, testing and prototyping of development, qualification, and flight hardware. This job is open to people with different levels of experience. The role will be adjusted to fit the right person. The ideal candidate will be able to handle tough technical challenges and has practical experience solving problems and designing/building/coding.
Responsibilities of the Electrical/Avionics Engineer:
1. Define, review, and critique engineering processes around electronics and avionics
2. Technical decision-making processes and technical development across various space systems disciplines
3. Guide electrical engineering processes and facilitate technical trades across the system
4. Identify technical issues and proactively implement resolutions to mitigate schedule and cost impacts
5. Circuit/board design and evaluation, as well as definition of interfaces
6. EEE Parts and/or radiation parts analysis
7. Design for electronics mission lifetime and architecture
8. Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) testing
9. Participate in the development of systems engineering products, spacecraft architecture, trade studies, requirements development, verification, and validation plans
10. Identify and interface vendors to carry out spacecraft electrical components selection and planning
Required Knowledge/qualifications of the Electrical/Avionics Engineer:
BS in Electrical (or Aerospace) Engineering or similar degree with 3+ years of experience OR MS with 2+ years of experience
Proficient with computer-aided design and analysis tools
Experience developing avionics and/or electrical systems for space applications
Shows initiative by demonstrating personal ownership of designs, seeking input from systems and cross-functional engineers
Can work autonomously, views work with a critical eye, prepares and gives peer reviews of work prior to critical milestones to peers
Collaborative and team-focused
Excellent communication, analytical, organisational, strategic, and statistical skills
