You will join Turn IT on, supporting schools across Buckinghamshire. You will own and drive visits to multiple school sites across the county, with an appropriate vehicle and a full UK driving license required for this role. You will maintain IT hardware and services across schools and help raise the standard of ICT provisions to support effective teaching and learning through ICT solutions.
You will facilitate communication between your school(s) and Turn IT on, keeping them up to date with services offered and managing customer accounts. You should be skilled in maintaining school computer equipment, installing new and existing software across the network, providing technical support for users, and resolving identified technical problems. A good knowledge of common user applications and Microsoft Office 365 is expected.
The ideal candidate will ideally have at least 2 years’ experience in a previous ICT Technician/2nd line support role, preferably in the education sector, though this is not essential. You should be passionate about IT with a strong technical background, self-motivated and focused on delivering excellent customer service. The role requires you to be a team player with strong communication and organisational skills and a courteous manner, able to explain technical issues in layman’s terms to customers. You should be able to work independently with an aptitude for problem solving and a proactive approach to identifying ways to improve services provided by your team.
Responsibilities include:
* Resolve and manage technical issues impacting the running of the school’s functions by providing robust technical solutions
* Install or repair computers with standardised applications and networking software, diagnosing and solving problems in operation
* Respond to a wide range of technical duties associated with the computer network and desktop services, primarily related to existing installations and upgrading these installations (Desktop computers, iPads, printers, telephones, scanners, projectors, PA equipment, AV lecterns and hardware)
The role is offered on a full-time, full-year basis and the successful candidate will be subject to enhanced DBS and safeguarding checks.
