Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Groundworks Labourer/Team Leader to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing various tasks to lead construction, maintenance, and other manual labour activities primarily within the utilities industry. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety standards. Good customer service is also required, as DP Burridge Developments works closely with BCP and Wessex Water.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the loading and unloading of materials and equipment
* Perform general site clean-up and maintenance
* Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
* Follow instructions from supervisors and work collaboratively with team members
* Support skilled tradespeople in their tasks as needed
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations
* Report any hazards or unsafe conditions to management promptly
Skills
* Strong physical fitness and stamina for manual labour tasks
* Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently
* Knowledge of construction tools and equipment is advantageous
* Good communication skills for effective teamwork
* Attention to detail to ensure high-quality work standards
* Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to various tasks as required
* Previous experience in a utilities role is required

* Abrasive Wheels Certificate
* Asbestos Awareness Certificate
* Service Location Certificate / CAT4+ and Genny Cable Avoidance Tool Certified
* CSCS Card (Required)
* Driving Licence (Required)
* NPORS or CPCS Certificate for excavator and dumper
* First Aid Basic Certificate
* Manual Handling Certificate
* National Hygiene Card
* NRSWA Streetwork Certificate Modules 1-7 & 9 (Required)
* Working at Height Certificate
* General Pollution Awareness Training
