Job Summary
We are delighted to offer this vacancy to join a team of 32 consultants working across two sites at the University Hospital of North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust. The post is pivotal in delivering a seamless service as the Trust begins the integrated care programme and aims to develop services based on population needs.
Responsibilities
The appointed consultant will be involved in cross‑site working between the University Hospital of North Tees and the University Hospital of Hartlepool. The on‑call element is based at the University Hospital of North Tees. The post is based around five fixed clinical sessions, with further sessions allocated to pre‑ and post‑operative visits, emergency duty, administration, teaching, non‑resident on‑call (anaesthesia and critical care) and weekend trauma lists.
The consultant will also support the development of a clinical directorate structure and may pursue management training towards leadership pathways.

Person Specification
Essential
* Full registration with GMC & licence to practice
* Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Anaesthesia
* CCT or CESR (CP) – proposed date within 6 months of interview
* CESR or European Community Rights FRCA or equivalent qualification
* FRCA or equivalent qualification
Desirable
* FFPMRCA (or equivalent)
* Advanced Resuscitation Course, ALS, ACLS, ATLS, APLS
* Instructor status for any resuscitation course
* Training in appraisal techniques
