Description This role will form part of the Passengers Services department where the highest service delivery standards are expected at all times, promoting our culture, brand and ethos to succeed at every step of the passenger journey. Assist with the daily operations of terminal functions inclusive of: Carparks and Bus Lane processes for payments and general enquiries. Assist in additional revenue earning activities and be proactive in identifying new approaches to develop and enhance services such as airline excess baggage, ticket sales, hotel bookings, lost baggage tracing. An airport environment is different to any other and you will be rostered to work to an agreed shift pattern between 0500 to 2200. The hours and days worked are subject to change throughout the year. They may also change at short notice due to operational reasons e.g., flight schedule changes, delays, diversions or additional movements. The role requires outside duties, escorting passengers in all weather conditions Key Accountabilities • To handle all customer enquiries received, offering a friendly and approachable service to all users of Cornwall Airport either on the telephone, via email or face to face. • Answering the telephone, taking accurate messages and providing information, either responding personally or redirecting to an appropriate colleague or department. • Compile and keep up to date a comprehensive information in various forms which is clear, accurate and usable by other departments and users of the Information Desk. • Assist in providing an airline ticket sales and coordinating our lost and found services. • To complete appropriate documentation when processing credit cards and payments as applicable. • To provide support and guidance to all passengers and customers of Cornwall Airport Newquay, especially in the event of any airline disruption, in accordance with airline and airport procedures. • Obtain the latest flight information from the Airport Operations data Management System and appropriate use of the public announcement system and hand held radios. • To provide assistance to families and passengers who have reduced mobility and hidden and other disabilities, in accordance with EC1107/2006 and airline and airport procedures. • To liaise with providers of public and private transport to/from the Airport as necessary. • To help in recording financial and statistical data for business purposes, including the reporting of data to the CAA for regulatory procedures and for other internal operational requirements. • To maintain confidentiality of information acquired in the course of undertaking duties for the department and wider company requirements. • To be responsible for your own self-development, undertaking training as appropriate.
