Salary: £19, - £23, per annum + Car Allowance

About the role
Following the award of funding for a three-year period, we now have an exciting opportunity for a Care & Repair Officer to join our team on a part-time, fixed-term basis.
Our Care & Repair service operates across Perth & Kinross, and Angus Council Areas, with this role predominantly focused on delivery within the Angus area. We enable older and disabled people to remain independent in their own homes by providing practical support, technical expertise, and advice. This includes delivering:
1. Small repairs
2. Medical adaptations
3. Ramp installations
4. General housing advice
You will play a key role in ensuring clients can live safely, comfortably, and with dignity.
Key responsibilities
5. Prepare technical information, drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
6. Provide clear and practical advice to clients, enabling informed decisions about repairs and adaptations
7. Monitor building works to ensure quality, compliance, and value for money
8. Work closely with contractors, local authorities, and partners to deliver effective services
9. Ensure all work meets service standards and regulatory requirements
10. Take a proactive, customer-focused approach to resolving issues
11. Contribute to continuous service improvement
What you will bring
Essential
12. HNC/HND (or equivalent) in a relevant building or technical discipline
13. Experience of technical repair and maintenance within a housing, local authority, or similar environment
14. Strong knowledge of building repairs, maintenance, and adaptations
15. Ability to produce technical drawings and specifications
16. Experience using CAD
17. Excellent communication skills with a strong customer focus
18. Ability to manage workload independently and problem-solve effectively
Previous experience working with Care & Repair services or similar client groups, knowledge of adaptations for older or disabled people, and an understanding of public sector procurement or tendering processes would be advantageous.
A full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle is essential. Please note PVG Scheme membership (or willingness to obtain) is a requirement for this role.
