We are a dynamic company seeking a reliable and responsible Delivery Driver to join our team in Hemel Hempstead. You will play a key role in ensuring timely and accurate collection of products from our suppliers using a company-provided van.
Job Summary
The Delivery Driver will be responsible for collecting products from designated suppliers using a company-provided van. The role involves following a provided picklist to ensure accurate and efficient pickups, maintaining the van in good condition, and adhering to all safety and traffic regulations. Initial training and supervision will be provided to ensure confidence and competence in independent operations.
Responsibilities
* Collect products from designated suppliers using the company van.
* Follow a provided picklist to ensure accurate and complete product collection.
* Safely operate and maintain the company van, reporting any issues promptly.
* Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
* Communicate effectively with suppliers and team members to ensure smooth operations.
* Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor during supplier interactions.
* Complete all required documentation accurately, including delivery logs.
* Participate in initial training and supervision until deemed capable of independent work.
Shift Schedule
Candidates will alternate weekly between two shift schedules:
Shift A (Week 1)
* Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM
* Tuesday, Thursday: 5:00 PM - 8:30 PM
* Saturday: 6:00 AM - 8:30 AM
Shift B (Week 2)
* Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM
* Tuesday, Thursday: 5:00 PM - 8:30 PM
* Sunday: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Note: Shifts will rotate weekly, with one week on Shift A followed by one week on Shift B.
Requirements
* Valid UK driver's license with a clean driving record.
* Proven experience as a driver (delivery or van driving experience preferred).
* Ability to follow instructions and manage time effectively to meet schedules.
* Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate product collection.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills for supplier interactions.
* Physically fit to handle loading and unloading of products as needed.
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently after training.
* Familiarity with Hemel Hempstead and surrounding areas is a plus.
Training and Support
* Comprehensive training will be provided during the initial weeks, with team members accompanying the driver to ensure familiarity with suppliers, routes, and processes.
* Ongoing support will be available to ensure safe and independent operation.
Compensation and Benefits
* Pay Rate: £14 per hour.
* Company-provided van, including petrol and insurance, for all work-related tasks.
