Job overviewWe are seeking a Clinical Engineering MESU Team Leader to play a key role in providing medical device management across Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. If you have extensive technical experience in medical devices and experience with people management, this role is for you. We’re also looking for someone with great organisational skills, combined with great attention to detail, to make a real difference in this rewarding opportunity.As part of one of the UK’s largest and busiest NHS trusts, you’ll work on a wide variety of medical devices alongside healthcare professionals from multiple specialties, directly contributing to a high standard of equipment management provision.You’ll join the Medical Equipment Services Unit (MESU) - a large technical and busy team within one of the country’s largest Clinical Engineering Departments.

This will give you access to extensive support, resources and expertise; you’ll have everything you need to grow, thrive, and make a meaningful impact in this challenging and exciting role.Please note: depending on applications received, we are also willing to consider candidates who do not meet all the essential criteria. Appointment would be made with expected progression against agreed milestones, this will be under Annex 21 as defined in the Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions of Employment. Pay and milestones underpinning such an appointment will be discussed with the successful candidate by the appointing manager.Main duties of the jobWe are looking for a Clinical Engineering MESU Team Leader to provide expert equipment management services and to manage a busy technical team at our CITY campus and ensure the safe and effective management of people and medical devices management.

You will bring extensive technical expertise in medical devices, including their use, repair, maintenance, and management within a healthcare setting. Your experience will also include working closely with healthcare professionals in clinical environments, communicating with them and ensuring that we provide the best service possible.As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for the staff within the team and to support them and ensure they can deliver a high level of technical support to clinical colleagues. The system will provide us with an outcome of your check which will be stored securely on your personal file along with all other pre-employment check documentation.

Consent:- Transfer of information: If I have previous NHS service - I consent to the transfer of my Electronic Staff Record (ESR) data between this and other NHS Trusts. I also consent to the Occupational Health Department confidentially accessing my occupational health records from my current or previous employer in order to check the status of my vaccinations, immunisations s and screening tests as relevant to the post. I understand this is an automated process and the information will only be used for these purposes prior to me taking up the position at NUH.- Disclosure and Barring Service: Your post maybe subject to a DBS check which incur a cost dependent on the level of check required (£49.50 for enhanced and £21.50 for standard).

I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check if it is required (by deduction from first month’s pay).
