Outsourcing Assistant Manager Liverpool £42,000 - £46,000 (Depending on Experience) Accountancy practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are partnering with a leading firm of chartered accountants in Liverpool, who are now looking to add an experienced Outsourcing Assistant Manager to their team. As an Outsourcing Assistant Manager, you will provide support to the management team, assisting with the management of a diverse client portfolio. The hands-on client workload will be varied and will see you reviewing bookkeeping, VAT returns, management accounts, and balance sheet reconciliations. You’ll assist with managing budgeting, forecasting, and cost control activities for outsourced projects. You’ll also support the Managers by providing assistance and guidance to more junior team members. The ideal candidate will be ACCA/ACA Qualified with strong and varied general practice experience. Responsibilities: Support the Outsourcing Managers with overseeing a portfolio of outsourced finance clients. Review bookkeeping, VAT returns, management accounts, and reconciliations prepared by juniors and seniors. Assist with preparing and finalising month end close processes and management accounts with supporting commentary. Deliver budgeting, forecasting, and cost control activities for outsourced projects. Monitor deadlines, SLAs, and compliance requirements, escalating issues early. Help manage team workflow, capacity planning, and the training and development of juniors. Contribute to process improvements, standardisation, and use of automation tools. Assist with system implementation, migration, and optimisation projects. Track WIP, budgets, job recoverability, and billing, highlighting variances to the Outsourcing Manager. Identify opportunities to improve client reporting, controls, and finance processes.
