We are currently recruiting enthusiastic & confident Cover Supervisors to join secondary schools in Nottingham. The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you'll take the lead in managing a classroom when a teacher is absent delivering pre-set work, maintaining behaviour, and ensuring students stay on task. It s a perfect stepping stone for anyone thinking about a future in education, whether you re planning to become a teacher or just looking to build transferable skills in leadership and communication.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise students across various subjects, following lesson plans left by teaching staff
* Ensure a calm, focused classroom environment where students can learn
* Manage behaviour and promote positive conduct in line with school policy
* Collect completed work and report back to teaching staff
* Offer light guidance on tasks, supporting students where appropriate
Minimum Requirements
We re looking for confident, reliable individuals who meet the following:
* Education: Minimum of a Level 3 qualification (A-Levels or equivalent) graduates encouraged to apply
* Experience: Previous experience working with young people is a bonus but not essential (e.g., sports coaching, tutoring, mentoring)
* Skills:
o Good communication and confidence speaking to groups
o Ability to stay calm, adaptable, and professional
o Strong sense of responsibility and reliability
* DBS: Must have or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce). If not registered to the update service, this may involve a cost
