Job Summary
Our globally renowned and respected client has been established for 60 years and specialises in the design, manufacture and support of bespoke in‑vitro diagnostic solutions for supply throughout the world.
As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, the client is seeking an experienced and self‑motivated multi‑skilled Field Service Engineer to complement their professional team and provide the highest levels of technical customer service and satisfaction in the installation, service, repair and technical support of a range of automated laboratory equipment associated with clinical and industrial markets in the Hertfordshire / St. Albans / Watford region of the UK.
Responsibilities
* Once trained on the portfolio of solutions, undertake a range of installation, planned preventative service, reactive repair and technical support activities in various customer‑facing environments including hospitals, laboratories and household name blue‑chip FMCG clients, managing vehicle stock inventory efficiently and within guidelines.
* Ensure activities are completed on time and to the highest levels of accuracy, with supporting documentation completed and submitted in accordance with the engineering and service department requirements.
* Attend initial in‑house training and additional training courses delivered where required to gain or maintain knowledge levels and ensure customers and stakeholders consistently receive the highest levels of service and support.
* Keep an eye on developments in the industry to stay up to date with advancements in technology.
* Assist with project work when required to ensure deadlines are achieved and provide customer on‑call support as part of the Service Team rota.
* Understand and ensure compliance with all relevant company policies and applicable industry regulations and legislation, including Health and Safety at Work, and ensure that you and those around you follow SSOW on site.
Qualifications
* Hold a full UK driving licence.
* Be qualified to at least ONC level or above in a relevant electrical or electronic engineering discipline.
* Have 3 or more years of experience gained in a comparable service or maintenance environment (with laboratory or medical equipment experience proving distinctly advantageous).
* Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills at all levels.

* Base salary: cGBP40k (negotiable based on experience).
* Up to GBP7500 call‑out allowance.
