Are you ready to make a real impact on the future of infrastructure? We're looking for a Civils/Structural Engineer to join our team as a trusted technical authority, providing expert advice and assurance across a diverse range of capital and maintenance projects.
In this role, you'll lead condition inspections, assess asset performance, and develop sustainable maintenance strategies that align with our long-term investment plans and environmental goals. You'll review designs, specifications, and contract documentation for new construction, planned maintenance, and reactive works. Acting as Employer's Representative under NEC3/4 contracts and occasionally as Principal Designer under CDM regulations, you'll ensure compliance, safety, and value at every stage.

Key Responsibilities
* Review and approve design briefs, specifications, drawings, and contract documentation.
* Act as the organisation's technical authority for civil engineering designs across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects (e.g., bridges, highways, water systems).
* Assess and approve consultant designs for compliance, safety, constructability, and cost-effectiveness.
* Challenge assumptions and provide independent engineering judgment.
* Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and internal teams to resolve technical issues.
* Provide technical input throughout planning, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
* Drive continuous improvement in engineering standards and design governance.
What We're Looking For
* Degree in Civil Engineering (BSc/BEng) or equivalent.
* Minimum 3 years' post-graduate experience in Civil/Structural Engineering.
* Ideally working towards MICE, MStructE, or equivalent professional membership.
* Strong knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office.
* Excellent communication skills with the confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders.
* Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
