Rolls-Royce pioneers advanced technologies that offer clean, safe, and competitive solutions to meet vital power needs worldwide. Due to ongoing transformational activities, we are seeking several Component Design Engineers for a 12-month contract based in Derby. These engineers will be part of the Combustion Engineering for Production and Aftermarket (EPA) team within the Turbomachinery Hot Section organization. The role involves supporting new component manufacturing, engine build, overhaul deliveries, and on-wing service support.
Responsibilities include:
1. Supporting supplier delivery through design and manufacturing collaboration and assessment of non-conformance.
2. Protecting fleet health by working with Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) networks to assess Technical Variances (TVs) and support engine overhaul deliveries.
3. Driving the journey to zero defects by proactively reducing concessions and TVs during production and aftermarket processes.
4. Supporting on-wing service issues to maximize engine time on wing (ToW) while ensuring safety.
Requirements:
* Component design background and understanding of product safety.
* Familiarity with gas turbine architecture (Turbomachinery).
* Experience in assessing non-conformance and manufacturing engineering.
* Problem-solving skills, stakeholder management, technical leadership, and team leadership abilities.
* Understanding of Zero Defects philosophy, gas turbine overhaul, and product lifecycle.
* Bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering or related fields. Equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
