Come and join one of our friendly and motivated admin teams based at Leighton Hospital, Crewe. We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible individual to undertake the role of APA (Assistant Personal Assistant) to our Medical Support Teams. These teams support the Consultants, Nurse specialists, and other clinical team members.

We are keen to hear from applicants who can demonstrate their organisational skills and ability to work on their own initiative. The main duties of the post include but are not limited to:

1. Providing a comprehensive secretarial/administrative service, including organising and making arrangements, typing and distributing documents and reports, recording information, and filing, ensuring all work meets performance standards and deadlines.
2. Assisting with managing diary commitments by liaising with internal and external contacts, ensuring accurate preparation, and briefing teams on any issues.
3. Maintaining constructive relationships within and across divisions and externally to improve service effectiveness and efficiency.
4. Learning electronic systems for correspondence, including specialist computer systems related to patient management and health information, and using the Internet to obtain information.
5. Providing information to patients, relatives, and carers as appropriate, including details on waiting lists, tests, and referrals, following agreed guidelines and in the absence of the PA.
6. Monitoring investigations database to ensure clinicians receive requested investigations promptly.
7. Updating pathways, closing off referrals, and administrating clinic cancellations.

As an Assistant PA (APA), you will organise your workload according to tasks set by the PA to ensure efficient service delivery and support colleagues in the administration team. The post holder will be supported to acquire all necessary skills to provide a comprehensive, quality, and confidential secretarial and administrative service to clinical teams.

Applicants should be highly motivated, able to work independently, and as part of a team. Flexibility, willingness to learn, and excellent communication skills are essential. Ideally, candidates will have some administration or clerical experience, good IT skills, and the ability to audio type.

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) provides high-quality, safe, and effective healthcare to Cheshire and beyond. The Trust manages Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford. Services include emergency care, maternity, outpatient services, therapies, and children's health.
