Social Worker – Child Permanence and Family Reunification

Location: Knaresborough, North Yorkshire
Role Overview
Your role will involve working with children and young people who are under local authority care, including those in foster or residential placements and those going through care proceedings. You will collaborate with families using an established practice model to create plans that support children’s best outcomes. Tasks may include supporting families in conversations about past trauma, chairing or facilitating family network meetings, and working with young people to develop pathways toward independence.
Responsibilities
* Engage with children, young people, and families across the care cycle; provide support through planned interventions.
* Create and implement care plans, using the local authority practice model, to secure positive outcomes.
* Facilitate family network meetings and support communication between children and their relatives.
* Build and maintain professional relationships with partner agencies across North Yorkshire.
* Participate in regular group and individual supervision, and engage in county-wide practice model sessions.
Qualifications and Experience
* Accredited social worker with a commitment to learning and applying comprehensive practice models including systemic social work, signs of safety, restorative practice, and family networking.
* Working knowledge of the court process relating to social care or a willingness and ability to learn.
* Strong collaborative and communication skills, able to build supportive relationships with children, families and team members.

Enhanced Level DBS Disclosure is required for appointment to this post.
It is a criminal offence for people barred from working under the Safeguarding and Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 to apply for roles requiring unsupervised work with adults or children at risk.
