Interviews are expected to be held on the 30 March 2026. This role will be based on the university campus.
Do you have experience working in a Sport, Leisure, or Fitness Facility in a supervisory role? Do you have excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships?
The University has recently invested £1.2M to expand ‘The Edge’ sports facility and provides state of the art fitness and class equipment, offering a range of classes and aquatics activities and a 25 metre 8 lane swimming pool.
Responsibilities
* As an Assistant Duty Manager, supervise a team of Recreation Assistants and ensure a high level of customer service is maintained.
* Work in a team to ensure that operational procedures and work practices are adhered to, keeping facilities safe, clean and well maintained.
* With the Duty Manager, take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the facility.
* Operate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, motivate others, and be able to work unsupervised using own initiative.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Experience working in a Sport, Leisure or Fitness Facility in a supervisory capacity.
* Current Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS) Lifeguard qualification and a National Pool Plant Operators Qualification, or ability to pass within 3 months.
* Full-time role with shift work including early morning starts (0600) and late evenings (1100), weekends, University Closure days and Bank Holidays.
* Primarily based at one designated sports facility, with the requirement to work at any of the university sports facilities when needed.
