Senior Finance Assistant within Sales

Fixed Term Contract to 31 March 2028

37 hours per week across 5 days, 52 weeks per year

£27,994 - £29,856 per annum

We are looking for a full-time Senior Finance Assistant to join our Finance team on a fixed-term basis, primarily based at our Norwich campus but with flexibility to work at Easton and Paston campuses when required. This role has been created to provide additional support during a period of change, as the College prepares to implement a new accounting system. The successful candidate will support the Finance Transactions Supervisor in processing, reviewing, and reconciling financial transactions with a strong focus on sales ledger income, invoicing, and banking activities.

* Support the Finance Transactions Supervisor in processing, reviewing, and reconciling financial transactions, focusing on sales ledger income, invoicing, and banking activities.
* Ensure income is accurately recorded, banked, and reconciled in a timely manner and resolve queries relating to customer accounts.
* Maintain high accuracy, attention to detail, strong Excel skills, and work to deadlines while upholding robust financial controls.
* Experience of an accounting system change or implementation is highly desirable, as the role requires supporting the transition and maintaining business‑as‑usual activity.
* Experience of sales ledger activity within an education environment is desirable but not essential.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as the role involves providing professional and responsive customer service to students, staff, and external organisations, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to resolve income and invoicing queries.

As a College, we are required to undertake various Safer Recruitment checks. All staff must undertake an enhanced Adult and Child Workforce DBS Check and register with the DBS Update Service. Please note that from 28 November 2020 the government implemented changes to the filtering rules, and we cannot accept any update service checks on DBS certificates issued before this date. Therefore a new one must be completed with City College Norwich.
