The Marketing Officer at Southampton Solent University is responsible for the delivery of the marketing plans for UG, PG and International students alongside the Marketing Manager which will help to enhance the university's brand, visibility, and reputation but also drive recruitment targets. The Marketing Officer delivers projects that drive student recruitment and will work closely with internal stakeholders, external partners but will also collaborate across departments to achieve marketing goals and elevate the university's position in the higher education landscape both in the UK and Internationally.
Delivery of Marketing plans:
* Work alongside the Marketing Manager to deliver an annual marketing plan for UG, PG and international using all available channels.
* Deliver the BTL activity for the UG, PG and International audiences, with the assistance of the Marketing Placement student. This includes but is not limited to: direct mail, CRM, applicant comms, Welcome comms, conversion incentives etc.
* Co-ordinate with internal teams e.g. CRM, digital, design and comms and ensure a high level of consistency and quality across all deliverables and ensuring that BTL activity complements ATL activity and broader campaign measurement.
* Closely monitor marketing trends and provide recommendations that support the university’s key strategic and recruitment objectives.
* Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform campaign development and identify opportunities for growth and to drive recruitment numbers.
* To undertake and/or manage analysis of competitive landscape, market environment and student motivations, and interpret results accordingly.
* Work with the wider team to deliver marketing activities.
* Effectively manage multiple projects to agreed deadlines and budgets.
Collaboration:
* Working with Senior Marketing Manager to understand the key selling points for the different audiences to ensure they are used consistently in our marketing communications
* Working with the schools and academic teams to better understand their key selling points to be able to effectively market their subject areas.
* Working cross-functionally with the recruitment and international teams to deliver marketing plans ensuring that they are aware of marketing activity.
* Help to identify content to promote across social media and website platforms to increase web traffic.
* Help drive a collaborative environment across all design areas, encouraging a close working environment.
Content and Design:
* Work closely with the content and production editor to identify and prioritise content for recruitment, brand, and marketing campaigns for all target audiences, including undergraduate, postgraduate, and international.
* Engage in collaborative efforts content team and designers to create and establish industry leading marketing material, both print and digital.
