TP-Tutors is looking for enthusiastic, dedicated English Tutors in Hull and nearby areas. We’re supporting more and more students who need personalised 1:1 guidance to boost confidence and close learning gaps—especially in English. Whether you’re helping learners master spelling and punctuation, build vocabulary, navigate creative writing, or tackle challenging GCSE texts like poetry, prose, and drama, your support could light the way to their success.
What’s the Role?
* Deliver bespoke 1:1 English tuition, often outside the classroom, tailored to each student’s needs.
* Focus on key areas such as grammar and punctuation, reading comprehension, creative and descriptive writing, essay structuring, and exam preparation.
* Help students explore classic and contemporary literature, from Shakespeare and Dickens to modern voices.
* Adapt your approach creatively to fit different learning styles and abilities.
* Conduct sessions in homes, libraries, schools, or online—whatever works best for your student.

What You’ll Need:
* Solid understanding of the English curriculum and key exam boards
* Passion for inspiring learners and helping them find their voice
* Experience working with children or young people (in schools, tutoring, or similar)
* Valid Enhanced DBS on the update service—or willingness to obtain one with our support
* Right to work in the UK and two professional references covering the past 24 months
* Teaching experience or educational background is a bonus but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
