Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and motivated Band 4 Decontamination Supervisor to join our Endoscopy department at Newham University Hospital.
This is a full time, fix term position, 1 year maternity cover starting in August 2024
The post also carries stock responsibilities and general duties within the Endoscopy ,Decontamination and Urology Department.
The unit at NUH will be open Monday to Friday 8-6
You will supervise and teach junior members of staff and learners as required, and maintain own personal development with support.
You should have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively as part of a large team, but also capable of planning your own work.
Applicants should preferably have at least 2 years experience in decontamination/ sterile services background, and demonstrate knowledge of endoscopy and decontamination equipment Relevant decontamination qualification is required

Main duties of the job
1. Manage all endoscopy equipment stock,Oracle orders
2. Ensure maintenance of all endoscopic equipment, AERs and keep records
3. Be responsible for COSHH in Decontamination area
4. Manage all staff training needs within Decontamination area with the support of Lead Nurse
5. Supervise less experienced technicians.

21. Expert knowledge of Tracking System oHave knowledge of test procedures used to verify the performance and safety of a range of clinical equipment. Be able to analyse/interpret the results in order to identify operational or safety deficiencies
