Level 1 Teaching Assistant Vacancy
Wawne Primary School is a small village school and we are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Level 1 Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. We pride ourselves on our welcoming, family atmosphere and our commitment to helping every child thrive.
This post is to provide support within our Foundation Unit. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the class teachers, SENDCo, and other members of staff to ensure the children’s needs are met
We are looking for someone who:
1. Ideally holds an NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification.
2. Has experience of supporting children.
3. Is enthusiastic, self-motivated and has a good sense of humor.
4. Is proactive in creating a safe, stimulating, and engaging learning environment.
Hours of work: Monday: 8.45 – 3.45, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: 12.30pm – 3.45, Friday: 8.45 – 3.45pm (including 30 minutes for lunch), totalling 22¾ hours per week. This is a term-time only position, starting in September 2026 and currently fixed term until 31st August 2027, with a review planned during the Summer of 2027 term.
