The Theatre Department in Prince Charles Hospital is looking for a Theatre Practitioner to join their busy team. The successful applicant must have an in depth knowledge of the health service with first level Nursing registration or the Operating Department Practitioner qualification. The applicant must demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The successful applicant must be dynamic and pro-active, and be flexible to changing work demands. The successful applicant will join a supportive team who are passionate about department and the quality of care they deliver.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn\'t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn\'t need to have skills in Welsh, we\'ll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn\'t \'fluency\', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. Main duties of the job
To act as a scrub practitioner/circulating practitioner for the whole range of surgical specialties.
The post holder will be expected to:
* work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide safe, high-quality patientfocused perioperative care to patients.
* meet the care needs of patients.
* carry out a full range of registered heath care professional duties, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patient\'s condition and care with support from the practitioner in charge as required
* monitor and respond to patients. This will include the ability to undertake clinical assessments, assess events, assess problems or changes in patient\'s conditions and provide solutions participate in the setting and monitoring of quality standards in relation to clinical practice.
* participate in the education and training of other staff members.
* continue own personal and professional development by rotating within the peri-operative care environment relevant to their sphere of practice.

Person Specification
* Welsh language speaking & listening skills at Level 3 or above
Experience
* Must be able to demonstrate a knowledge of the surgical environment and type of work to be undertaken
* Student placement in theatre
* Previous experience in a theatre environment
Knowledge
* UK NMC registered nurse or HCPC registered Operating Department Practitioner
* Previous surgical experience
Qualifications
* Meets all essential criteria as per attached job description/person specification.
