HGV CLASS 1 DAY DRIVER – BIRMINGHAM
People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Day Driver to join our well-established client based in Birmingham, West Midlands.
This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work and genuine opportunities for growth and progression within a reputable logistics operation.
This role would suit candidates with experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver, C+E Driver, General Haulage Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.
Shifts
• Monday to Friday
The information below covers the role requirements, expected candidate experience, and accompanying qualifications.
• Day starts between 03:00 and 07:00
• Night starts from 17:00
Rates of Pay
• Days – £16.25 per hour
• Nights – £17.50 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties
As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include but not be limited to:
• Carrying out general haulage work
• Operating and driving Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently
• Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensuring all cargo is loaded and secured correctly
• Adhering to all road traffic laws and transport regulations
• Communicating effectively with transport teams and customers
• Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements promptly
• Supporting loading and unloading duties where required
Essential Skills
To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:
• A valid UK Category CE Licence
• A minimum of 12 months' experience driving Category CE vehicles
• No more than six penalty points for minor infringements
• No major endorsement codes
• A valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
• Good spoken and written English
• Excellent timekeeping and reliability
• A good understanding of road traffic laws and driver regulations
• Strong communication skills
Desirable Experience
• Previous commercial driving experience
• Previous multi-drop delivery experience
Training Provided
• Industry-related training provided
• Ongoing support and development throughout your assignment
