Audit Director
Cardiff | Circa £80,000 – £103,000 | Permanent
One of the most established practices in South Wales is approaching a succession point in its audit leadership and they are handling it carefully. The Director they are now looking for will step into a senior client-facing position with a well-built portfolio already in place. The clients are there, the team is performing, and the Partners want someone who will grow into a long-term leadership position within the firm.
The Role
* Lead a portfolio of audit clients including corporate groups, owner-managed businesses, and third sector organisations.
* Take technical responsibility for file quality and mentor managers through complex audit areas.
* Build and deepen client relationships at Board and Finance Director level.
* Contribute to the firm's approach to audit methodology, quality, and team development.
* Work with senior Partners on succession and the shape of the audit team over the next three to five years.
About You
* Qualified, with substantial post-qualification audit experience in practice.
* At Director or Senior Manager level, with a genuine client portfolio and team leadership experience.
* Technically strong, with the confidence to lead reviews and guide managers on complex judgements.
* A confident communicator at senior client level, with the relationship skills to add commercial value.
