The Opportunity
The successful candidate will work within the Engineering Supply Chain reporting to the Process & Services Manager. The successful candidate will part of the Purchase group and will work alongside our Engineering teams to deliver quality NPI projects on time. This means understanding the project requirements, making recommendations on effective and efficient ways to meet project deliverables and managing procurement activity. They will also work with internal process partners to ensure that Purchase deliverables are met to enable our suppliers to be paid on time and all compliance aspects are fulfilled to enable a smooth receipt of goods
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
* Processes requisitions and provides support for purchasing, supply chain, sourcing, cost, price analyses and contract/purchase order generation.
* Performing analysis and maintenance of assigned processes that produce excellence output, builds expertise for the assign process area, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts
* Supporting internal customers and customer proposal efforts with pricing information and supplier selection.
* Performing analytical and administrative tasks in support of purchasing strategic initiatives.
* Executes the planning, coordinating, and reporting of procurement activity to support allocated research and development or capital projects.
* Researching and assessing existing and potential prototype suppliers; making recommendations on supplier selection to meet desired project timelines.
* Represent the Prototype Procurement team at various meetings with internal customers and suppliers, feeding back critical information to help the business meet its commitments to achieve program milestones and commitments to customers
* Assist with resolution of supplier grief or payment issues originating from purchase orders from within the department.
* Skills and Experience:
Essential - Candidates will have gained the following skills and be able to demonstrate attributes from experience in previous roles:
* Have strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Be customer focused who works with a disciplined approach and has a good attention to detail
* Works with a high level of accuracy, and effective at creating strategies to check your own work.
* Strong PC skills – Microsoft packages and proven ability of working an MRP system
* Understanding of industry purchasing practices, and working in a business-to-business environment
* Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
* Previous experience in a Purchasing/Supply Chain role

CIPS Qualification
