Job Description – Garage Manager / Site Manager
We are looking for a Garage Manager / Site Manager to lead operations at our busy service garage. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with proven management experience, strong mechanical knowledge, and the ability to thrive under pressure. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, adaptable, and able to inspire and manage a team while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Responsibilities
Booking in jobs and managing daily workflow
Leading and supporting a team of mechanics
Ordering and returning car parts as required
Front-of-house communication with customers
Handling incoming and outgoing phone calls
Creating invoices and processing payments
Tracking and reporting daily sales
Ensuring the work area is kept clean, organised, and safe
Essential Skills & Qualities
Proven leadership and management skills
Strong car knowledge and solid mechanical understanding
Excellent communication and people management skills
Highly adaptable with the ability to think creatively and implement innovative ideas
Able to handle high-pressure situations effectively
Organised, reliable, and proactive
Preferable Skills (Bonus, Not Essential)
Ability to carry out smaller mechanical jobs during quieter periods (e.g. checks, diagnostics, oil top-ups, minor servicing)
Ability to perform Class 4 and Class 7 MOTs if qualified
Qualifications/Experience
Minimum 2 years' experience in a garage environment
Minimum 2 years' experience in a managerial or leadership role
Hours & Pay
Full-time: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm
Potential Saturdays: 9:00am – 2:00pm (when required)
Pay: £12.21 – £20.00 per hour, depending on experience and performance in the first few weeks
