Job overview

To provide and embed a supportive, motivational and compassionate leadership culture across the EOC This role is a key leadership role in supporting EEAST in continuing our journey and consistently deliver our vision and values.

This role will be required to work within the Control Room / CAS, and will be will be based at Bedford EOC.

This role attracts Section 2 unsocial and the EOC Clinical Workforce Managers will be required to work occasional weekends and evenings. No night working is required.

Applicants must be able to work predominantly on-site at Bedford EOC to provide visible leadership and support in real time to our people.

Main duties of the job

Accountable to the EOC Senior Managers Clinical Services and responsible for management of a defined group of staff within their portfolio of responsibility. This will include some line management functions of EOC based teams which may include clinical staff and non-clinical EOC staff.

The EOC Clinical Workforce Manager (CWM) is responsible for ensuring their teams maintain compliance with all relevant key quality and workforce requirements. The role will be accountable for a range of key performance indicators for groups of multi-disciplinary teams.

The CWM will work autonomously providing working cover which will ensure continuity of management and providing high quality visible leadership. This will the EOC Clinical Workforce Manager to receive the appropriate tactical commander education.

The CWM will operate flexibly across the defined area of responsibility and they will provide support, guidance and advice to all staff based at, or visiting, the EOCs. The role will provide the named leadership point of contact (within area of responsibility) for all staff related issues and be an interface with local stakeholders and external agencies as required.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

1. Management Qualification or postgraduate degree level or equivalent level of relevant exposure and experience acquired within a similar environment
2. A First Line Manager’s qualification equivalent to ILM level 4 or above.
3. A full UK Manual Driving Licence with no more than 6 penalty points.

Desirable criteria

4. A Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Nursing or Paramedic Science (IHCD)
5. Evidence of Continuous Professional Development.

Skills and Knowledge

Essential criteria

6. Ability to lead, motivate, coach and manage teams successfully.
7. Ability to manage time and to work to deadlines
8. Prioritising conflicting demands and often unpredictable work patterns.
9. Competent in the use of MS Office package.
10. Effective and sensitive communications skills.
11. Ability to analyse and interpret complex data to monitor and improve performance
12. Excellent communication skills.

Desirable criteria

13. Making and owning autonomous decisions in fast paced highly pressurised environments to exacting deadlines.

Experience

Essential criteria

14. Experience of managing teams successfully
15. Experience of managing and resolving complex and sensitive staff issues with the utmost discretion
16. Experience of managing and influencing people.

Desirable criteria

17. Experience of working in a management role within a Health Care setting delivering a call centre service.
18. Project management experience in a call centre environment or equivalent experience.
