Senior Estimator – High-End Projects

💰 Up to £90,000 + Car Allowance + Excellent Package
Walker & Sloan are proud to be working with a well-established regional contractor with a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality, bespoke construction projects across Oxfordshire. We're currently supporting them in their search for a Senior Estimator to join their team at their head office.
This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Estimator to join a forward-thinking and people-centric business known for its craftsmanship, collaborative culture, and passion for quality builds. The organisation works across a range of sectors including luxury private residential, education, heritage, leisure, and commercial schemes, with project values ranging up to £70 million.
🧱 The Role:
As Senior Estimator, you’ll take ownership of multiple tenders and play a key role in securing work for the business. You’ll work closely with Pre-Construction, Commercial, and Operations teams to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates, whilst mentoring junior team members and improving processes.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading allocated tenders from start to finish
* Assessing tender opportunities and deciding on bid strategies
* Preparing and coordinating subcontractor and supplier enquiries
* Liaising with Design, Contracts, and Commercial teams for input into method statements and programming
* Attending site visits to assess access and project constraints
* Managing handovers to delivery teams on successful tenders
* Supporting continuous improvement of estimating processes and documentation
✅ What You’ll Need:
* A relevant construction-related degree or equivalent experience
* Strong background in estimating within the construction industry
* Excellent knowledge of contracts, SMM7/NRM2, and relevant estimating software (e.g., Conquest/Causeway)
* High level of attention to detail and strong time management
* Confident communicator with the ability to lead bids and mentor others
