The Company: Roberts & Prowse based in Swindon are a Steelwork Fabrication and Specialist Welding Contractor who operate throughout the Home Counties, South West & South East of the UK. Due to sustained success and growth are recruiting for Fabrication Assistants to join our busy team.
The Role: As Fabrication Assistants you will report directly to the Senior Engineering Manager and will be given the responsibility for assisting with Welding & fabrication projects at our Swindon Factory.
Duties will include:

Operate power tools and hand tools to cut, shape, weld and fabricate metal components
*
Work with Mild and Stainless Steel pipework and Structural Steelwork
*
Cut, Drill and Prepare pipe and Steelwork prior to fabrication
*
Assist in fabricating metal parts
*
Carry out application of protective coatings
*
Protect finished objects from transport and installation damage

The Person:
To be considered for this role, applicants should be able to: -

Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations
*
Familiarity with working with mild and stainless-steel pipework and structural steelwork an advantage
*
Be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
*
A willingness to listen and learn
*
A full driving license – required to drive to our Swindon Factory location.
