Job Summary The Roofing and Cladding Buyer is responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials and products related to roofing and cladding projects. This role requires a detailed-oriented professional with strong negotiation skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to manage supplier relationships to ensure quality and cost-efficiency. Key Responsibilities Procurement Management: Source, negotiate, and purchase roofing and cladding materials, ensuring the best quality and price. Supplier Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards are met. Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels and manage stock to ensure project requirements are met without delay. Cost Management: Monitor and report on budget expenditures, seeking cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards. Market Research: Stay updated with industry trends, material innovations, and market conditions to make informed purchasing decisions. Compliance: Ensure all purchases comply with company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and inventories. Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, site managers, and the finance team to align procurement activities with project timelines and budgets. Experience Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement within the construction industry, specifically in roofing and cladding. Skills Strong negotiation and communication skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of roofing and cladding materials and suppliers.
