The Housekeeper will assist in providing a high level of care in all clinical areas under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. They will organize their own daily tasks and work collaboratively within a diverse, multi-disciplinary team to ensure the delivery of the Endoscopy service.
The post holder will develop and maintain good patient care and organizational skills, assisting with creating an environment conducive to clinical excellence. They will aim to develop both personally and professionally to reach their full potential.
The role of the Housekeeper involves assisting in the maintenance of highly specialized and expensive equipment, as well as the procurement, care, and maintenance of all physical assets, including specialist equipment and supplies for the clinical area.
* The Housekeeper will be expected to take ownership of stock levels within the department, including ordering stock.
* Assist in the procurement, care, and maintenance of all physical assets, including specialist equipment and supplies for the clinical area.
* Access and use Trust IT systems for procurement and logging requests, in addition to maintaining up-to-date spreadsheets.
* Maintain Endoscopy supplies to pre-determined levels and locations throughout the department, ensuring proper storage.
* Ensure all equipment and supplies are within their 'use by' dates and used in the correct order.
* Monitor stock levels for clinical and non-clinical items, ensuring appropriate storage and stock levels in clinical areas.
* Top up storage units in clinical areas as needed.
* Put stock away and maintain a clean, safe, and tidy environment.
* Regularly check expiry dates and manage stock rotation.
* Maintain a register of Endoscopy equipment, trace loaned items, and return loaned items as appropriate.
* Maintain filing systems to track supplies as required.
