Trainee Events Refrigeration Engineer Stoke-on-Trent / On-the-Road across the UK & Europe Ready to turn your hands-on mindset into a proper engineering adventure? We're looking for enthusiastic trainees to join our Events Team at Cross Rental Services – no refrigeration experience needed, just a genuine engineer's curiosity, a willingness to learn on the job, and a love for getting stuck in! You'll be installing and dismantling temporary air conditioning units at some of the most iconic sporting, motor racing, golf, tennis, massive festivals, and buzzing expos across the UK & Europe. It's hands-on from day one: learn the ropes of cooling systems, develop your refrigeration knowledge, manage project timelines, follow RAMS guidance, and help keep everything running safely and smoothly. Perfect if you want real-world experience while travelling and building skills fast. We're upfront about the role: This isn't your typical office job. During peak season (June–September), you'll be travelling extensively to sites across the UK, Europe, and occasionally worldwide. You'll stay on-site for the full duration of each event, which could mean weeks away at a time, then heading straight to the next one. It's demanding, but if you love exploring new places, meeting great people, and the excitement of live events, you'll thrive. In the off-season (October–May), you'll be based in Stoke-on-Trent, maintaining our equipment for the next busy period. About Us We're Acclimatise/Air2Events, a subsidiary of Cross Rental Services – the leading provider of temporary cooling and heating solutions that make events unforgettable. We supply festivals, sporting events, and corporate functions with high-quality refrigeration and HVAC systems. Our ethos? What We Offer Salary & Benefits: Competitive salary with enhanced overtime rates for evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. Daily subsistence allowance for meals during overnight stays at events. Working Hours: Standard hours 08:00–17:00, with flexibility required for travel and events. Annual Leave: 25 days plus bank holidays. Pension & Perks: 5% employee contribution matched by 3% from us; free parking; corporate eyecare scheme; discretionary group life assurance; and optional private medical insurance after probation. Culture: A supportive environment built on respect, accountability, and integrity, where we invest in our people. If you're enthusiastic about travel, and ready to kick start your career at the heart of exciting events, apply now!
