An innovative, well-established consultancy that owns a large portion of the local Scottish market and is expanding across the UK. The firm creates mechanical and electrical design engineering solutions for sectors such as Education, Commercial, Hotel & Leisure, and more. Sustainability is at the core of all projects, delivering environmentally friendly and cost-effective engineering solutions. The company is renowned for its supportive and trust‑based working environment and is currently looking for an experienced electrical engineer, ideally senior but will consider associate level.
Role
* Lead the electrical design for building services projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
* Prepare detailed electrical designs, calculations, specifications, and reports.
* Take ownership of project delivery, ensuring high‑quality outputs within agreed timescales and budgets.
* Develop strong client relationships and represent the company at client meetings and presentations.
* Support project management, including resource allocation, risk management, and project reporting.
Qualifications / Experience
* A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards Chartered status.
* Extensive experience in electrical design engineering within the building services sector.
* Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including lighting, power, fire alarms, security, and data systems.
* Proficiency in relevant design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design tools.
* In‑depth understanding of UK building regulations, codes of practice, and industry standards.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
* Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to provide innovative solutions to complex design challenges.
* Proven experience in managing projects and client relationships.
* A proactive, self‑motivated approach to work, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* 24 days holiday + public holidays.
* Hybrid working (3 days in office).
* Support towards chartership.
