Overview
Aldi UK is seeking a National IT Technician to support IT operational stability and performance, adhering to IT industry best practices and delivering high-quality customer service. This role is part of the AHEAD project in the Supply Chain domain, using SAP S/4 HANA.
What you’ll do
* Provide first level IT support to the operational business.
* Maintain an incident log to document user requirements, open issues and escalation paths.
* Know escalation points within National IT, International IT or external contractors.
* Escalate unresolved incidents as instructed to appropriate parties.
* Monitor escalated issues and seek status updates as needed.
* Keep the incident creator informed of progress or delays.
* Identify and escalate known or recurring errors to the National IT Manager.
* Recommend workarounds or additional training to maintain support efficiency.
* Contribute content to the knowledge base for problem management.
* Provide accurate incident information to support other IT processes.
* Test hardware and program updates to ensure new requirements and existing functionality operate correctly.
* Develop applications and/or reports as required.
* Train other Aldi staff where appropriate.
* Ensure deadlines and SLAs are met within the area of responsibility.
About you
* Experience in a technical support role.
* Strong troubleshooting skills.
* Excellent listening, interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to take ownership of urgent tasks and prioritise under pressure.
* Driven to perform to the best of your abilities and build trust at all levels.
* Willingness to take ownership and work effectively within a team.
* Logical, detail-oriented and self-motivated.
* Experience with Supply Chain systems is desirable.
* Service Now experience is desirable.

* Salary starting £31,335 rising to £35,020.
* Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, with the opportunity of 2 days a week remote working.

Additional information
You’ll need to live within 90 minutes of your main working location. This role does not fulfil visa sponsorship requirements.
