Job Description: Leonardo UK is offering an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, forward-thinking team at our state-of-the-art Leonardo Academy in Lincoln. As a Trainer in Electronic Warfare (EW) – Typhoon Capability, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the EW community by delivering and developing training across a broad spectrum of EW disciplines. This role is particularly suited to professionals with Typhoon platform and Mission Data experience, providing a chance to apply your knowledge and expertise in fast-jet electronic warfare systems to support the next generation of airborne mission success. As part of a dedicated EW training team, you will: Design, develop and deliver high-quality training packages and courseware tailored to complex EW systems and mission data processes. Incorporate Typhoon platform-specific knowledge, including Electronic Support Measures (ESM), Electronic Countermeasures (ECM), and threat vulnerability countermeasures into training solutions. Support UK and international customers by developing bespoke learning solutions aligned to operational requirements. Liaise with subject matter experts and engineers to translate complex technical content into effective training. Conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to shape relevant and effective instructional programmes. Deliver training at UK and overseas customer sites, with regular travel to Europe and the Middle East (including potential for extended stays). Access to professional development pathways, including the opportunity to pursue a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) through our partnership with the University of Lincoln and Certificate in Education Assessment with the Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors at University of Hertfordshire. What you’ll bring We are looking for individuals with a strong EW background, preferably with experience on the Typhoon platform or other fast-jet aircraft. Key attributes include: Essential: Strong understanding of Electronic Warfare Operational Support (EWOS) and mission data generation tools. Typhoon-specific EW experience, particularly with ESM/ECM and threat libraries. Knowledge of Typhoon DASS. Knowledge and/or Experience of training development, including course design and delivery using modern instructional techniques. Ability to deliver technical training to diverse audiences, both in the UK and abroad. Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal presentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and training development applications. A flexible and team-oriented approach, with experience working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners. Ability to travel internationally for training delivery on a regular basis, no more than a total of 120 days per annum, not to exceed 8 weeks in any one delivery period. Hold (or be willing to obtain) an AET Level 3 teaching qualification or equivalent. Desirable: Instructional experience in Electronic Support Measures (ESM) and Electronic Countermeasures (ECM) related to fast-jet operations. Knowledge of systems approach to training (SAT) such as JSP 822, RSAF 105, Bi-Sc 75 etc. Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS). Awareness of international defence training practices and export controls. Practical experience of working with Software in the Loop (SWiL) test and verification applications in support of Mission Data activities.
