Title: Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer
Location: East Yorkshire
Hours: DAYS -- 12hr shifts - 4on/4off
Salary: £46k pa + 5% KPI bonus + Benefits

As a key member of the engineering team, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining the seamless operation of the technical processes. Your responsibilities will include project management, promoting continuous improvement, implementing lean methodologies, and ensuring the timely execution of maintenance solutions. This role places you at the forefront of a busy manufacturing environment, where production demands quick action and adaptability. You’ll be tasked with handling various responsibilities with precise deadlines, requiring the ability to manage stress, prioritise tasks effectively, and meet the business’s needs with agility.
Roles & Responsibilities as the Multi-skilled Engineer:
1. Assume responsibility for the engineering integrity of equipment by carrying out the following:
1. Effective planned maintenance inspections as per plan, reviewing frequencies, parts used, failure rates, overhaul, and repair of plant with engineering colleagues.
2. Complete stores requisitions for parts.
3. Continually monitor plant conditions and report defects.
4. Act as the team champions of good engineering standards.
5. Carry out safety checks on equipment in line with legislation and best practice.
6. Use of the Permit to Work (PTW) system.
7. Be the site contact for contractors.
8. Work on your own initiative in respective areas as well as other areas of the business.
9. Complete any relevant documentation on time and in full. E.g., completion of works orders paying attention to detail.
10. Support capital projects as and when required.
11. Take personal responsibility for Health & Safety.
12. Minimise waste and re-cycle all product effectively.
13. Maintain high standards of Hygiene and Housekeeping.
14. Help to generate and maintain compliance to SOP’s and Risk Assessments.
15. Carry out work in a standardised way.
16. Report plant performance using appropriate company systems and ensure action on/communication of non-conformance issues.
17. Carry out duties and tasks across the factory as deemed necessary and suitable to reduce idle time.
18. Deliver a consistent and improving plant reliability through the effective management and of downtime and PPM conformance.
2. Aligned with your respective production area:
1. Work closely with production managers and supervisors in relation to the SQDCP metrics.
2. Review downtime and uptime and provide recommendations to improve performance, including trends and breakdown/fault data.
3. Ensure operational key information is effectively communicated to colleagues and other shift teams.
4. Provide engineering support within your production area, building key working relationships with production management and supervision.
5. Review of Monday.com data and use the data to drive improvement in your respective areas.
6. Support with the manufacturing projects, attending weekly review meetings to discuss progress and agree milestones.
7. Review department metrics and handovers to identify where to provide engineering guidance and support for operative activities such as machine training and set up to drive improvement in machine and operative efficiencies.

Experience/technical skills:
Formal engineering qualification to at least City & Guilds level, NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a mechanical and electrical discipline with corresponding practical experience (essential).
18th Edition wiring regs
Experience of generic engineering equipment is essential hydraulics, pneumatics, Steam, PLCs, Electrical components.
Needs the ability to clearly understand engineering drawings, symbols, and notation.
Demonstrated a sound capability of technical understanding of Key Production plant in both process and wrapping area.
Full UK Driving licence essential.
