We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Care Assistant to join our team in a specialist dementia care home. This role is vital in supporting residents with dementia to live with dignity, comfort, and joy. You’ll be part of a compassionate team that values person-centred care and strives to make every day meaningful for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide high-quality personal care including washing, dressing, toileting, and mobility support
2. Assist with daily activities and routines tailored to individual needs and preferences
3. Support residents during mealtimes, ensuring nutritional needs are met
4. Monitor and report changes in physical or emotional health to senior staff
5. Maintain accurate records of care provided
6. Promote independence and respect residents’ choices and dignity
7. Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and colleagues
8. Uphold safeguarding, health & safety, and infection control standards
What We’re Looking For:
9. Genuine passion for caring for people with dementia
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
11. Patience, empathy, and a calm approach to challenging situations
12. Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team
13. Previous experience in care (especially dementia care) is desirable but not essential
