The Quality Engineering CoE is seeking a Release Manager to join the team, providing IT software delivery and implementation through a Release calendar to support Aviva's business operations.
The area manages the controlled, reliable, and predictable delivery of changes within a complex and dynamic environment across multiple platforms and teams.
A bit about the job:
The Release Manager plays a vital role in the software development lifecycle, ensuring the smooth and safe delivery of software products.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Planning and Coordination: Planning the release of project deliverables and related activities, coordinating with project management, software development, quality engineering, and operations teams.
2. Managing the Release Process: Scheduling, planning, and controlling the delivery process across multiple applications and portfolios.
3. Execution and Monitoring: Leading Go-Live activities, executing deployment plans, monitoring progress, managing risks, and resolving conflicts to ensure successful releases and protect customer service.
4. Continuous Improvement: Improving release processes through readiness reviews, milestone reviews, and go/no-go decisions.
5. Documentation and Communication: Collaborating with Release Engineers and Platform teams to produce deployment run books, implementation plans, and manage key information such as build and release procedures and dependencies.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
* Experience: Extensive experience in release management or a related role.
* Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of SDLC and experience with release management tools and methodologies.
* Project Management: Excellent skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective coordination.
* Problem-Solving: Proactive, strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.
* Agile and DevOps: Experience with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines.
