Senior Social Worker/Senior Practitioner– Family Help Team
Salary: £50,532 to £56,607 per annum

Exciting new opportuinity tojoin theFamily Help Team as adedicated and experiencedSenior Social Worker/Senior Practitioner in Ilford. This role focuses on delivering high-quality early intervention and preventative services to children and families, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development. As a senior member of the team, you will provide leadership, guidance, and support to colleagues, helping to embed best practices and improve outcomes for service users.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry a manageable caseload of complex cases, ensuring timely and effective assessments, interventions, and plans in line with statutory requirements.
* Provide expert advice, guidance, and support to social workers and other team members to enhance practice and decision-making.
* Chair case discussions, team meetings, and multi-agency forums, ensuring a collaborative and child-centred approach to service delivery.
* Act as a practice lead within the team, modelling high standards of professional behaviour, knowledge, and skills.
* Work directly with children, young people, and families to develop relationship-based interventions that address needs and reduce risks.
* Contribute to the quality assurance and performance management processes, ensuring continuous improvement in service delivery.
* Keep up to date with changes in legislation, policy, and research to ensure practice remains compliant and evidence-based.
* Support the development and delivery of training, reflective practice sessions, and team development initiatives.
* Represent the Family Help Team in strategic and operational meetings as required.

What We’re Looking For:
* Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England.
* Significant post-qualification experience in children’s social care, with a proven ability to manage complex cases.
* Strong knowledge of UK legislation, policies, and frameworks relevant to children and families.
* Demonstrated ability to mentor, guide, and support less experienced colleagues.
* Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
* Skilled in conducting comprehensive assessments and creating outcome-focused plans.
* Experience of working collaboratively with multi-agency partners to address complex needs.
