We are looking for expressions of interest in an Environmental Health Officer vacancy in the Food Team. You will provide professional business advice, support and training. You will inspect and investigate issues in licensed premises. You will undertake Health & Safety investigations as required. You will undertake enforcement action as appropriate and in line with the council’s enforcement policy.

Experience is essential as we are looking for a competent officer who is able to undertake the work with minimal supervision; however support and training can be provided to the right candidate if they meet the essential requirements of the post. You will have proven oral and written communication skills, be able to work on your own as well as being a team player and be capable of managing a heavy and varied workload. Due to the diverse nature of the roles, some working unsociable hours will be required.

* Experience of food safety in a regulatory environment
* A full driving licence

Expressions of interest are welcomed from enthusiastic candidates who are actively working towards completion of their CIEH EHP portfolio and professional discussion. We will provide the support and opportunity to develop your professional skills and competencies across all intervention areas including pollution control, air quality, occupational health and safety, housing standards, food safety, and infectious disease to achieve this. Pay awards will be linked to the successful completion of the portfolio and discussion.

We are a flexible employer and provide a variety of working arrangements tailored to the needs of each role.
